(16). कहानी विभाग A. वर्धमान कुमार - VARDHAMAN (MAHAVIRA) AND THE MONSTER
एक बडा पीपल का वृक्ष था । एक दिन जब राजकुमार वर्धमान अपने बाल मित्रों के संग वहाँ खेल रहे थे, तभी उन्होने वहाँ पर एक काले नाग को देखा, उस नाग की आँखे पीले रंग की थी और वह फूत्कार कर रहा था।
उनके मित्र घबरा गये। कुछ अकेले भागने लगे और बाकी वृक्ष पर चढ गये। केवल वर्धमान कुमार शांत रहे। वह नाग के समीप गये। कुमार ने सर्प को धीरे से उठाकर बिना कोई चोट पहुँचाये उसे दूर रख दिया। सब बच्चे भय से मुक्त हो गये। वर्धमान कुमार ने अपने मित्रों को डरपोक नहीं अपितुनीडर बनने को कहा।
There was a big Banyan Tree. One day, while Prince Vardhaman and his young friends were playing there, they saw a black snake. The snake had yellow eyes, and it was hissing. His friends got scared. Some started to run away, while others climbed up the banyan tree. Only Vardhaman remained calm. He went near the snake. He gently picked up the snake
and placed it far away without hurting it. All of his friends were relieved.
Vardhaman told them that they should be brave, and not fearful.
