SHREE JAIN VIDYALAYA : MY IMPRESSION
I am sure that all of us are quite pleased to learn about the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Shree Jain Vidyalaya, Calcutta this year. It also gives us some satisfaction that during this year, the Vidyalaya has scaled new heights. Not only there has been a spectacular improvement in the results of Class-X and XII Examinations, 1994 of our Vidyalaya under Board and Council of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, W.B., but also our students have been able to do exceptionally well in several other fields.
The activities witnessed during past years in respect of results and discipline of school students, have been not only outcome of the strenous efforts put in by the talented Teaching-Force of our Vidyalaya, but also is a reflection of the buoyant vision and ardent desire of the Predecessors of Shree Shwetambar Sthanakvasi Jain Sabha, Calcutta in the past (about sixty-five/seventy years ago) to create a team of dedicated workers, though they had less education, having little knowledge of reading, writing arithmetics (Three RRR). They had acquired considerable steam, driven principally by a steady growth in the field of education and service to the

mankind, irrespective of caste and creed, and to bring about revolution/reformation in achieving
RIGHT KNOWLEDGE
RIGHT VISION RIGHT CONDUCT
in the streamline of Jain Philosophy. That stream has generated right climate in our Shree Jain Vidyalaya and surprisingly captured up-beat mood among the students & teachers of school and members of the Managing Committees of Shree Jain Vidyalaya and Shree S.S. Jain Sabha.
From the trends in the current year so far, it looks that the results achieved this year may not be an aberration, it may be beginning of a new era. As it moves into a different trajectory, much higher levels of energy will be required in the infra-structure. Setting up of schools and colleges, of course, is a necessity, but to keep the same in right climate and in order requires proper systems to scale up its operations, significantly under high quality of co-ordination, unanimity and team work spirit which run to create the opportunity of success. Here at Shree Jain Vidyalaya, I have found such team-spirit among our fellow-members and teaching force and members of the Sabha to meet the challenges in the past and ahead of all, reflecting continued confidence. I would like to place on records their gratitude for such active support to act like member of only one very good united family on this grand occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Shree Jain Vidyalaya, Calcutta. I also feel proud to remain working with such a high graded team since long when it was a "Small Pathsala at Mohanlal Galli." Jamunalal Bazaz Street. (Cloth Market Area of our Burrabazar). I like to pay my high and heart-felt regards to those predecessors who had a bright-dream for this Vidyalaya to serve mankind in the field of education to all irrespective of any cast & creed.
Under the team-spirit, Shree Jain Vidyalaya could scale such heights with the setting of its second unit at Howrah in 1991, which also got its independent recognition by the W.B. Board of Secondary Education this year, completing an important phase and very likely to have its Higher Secondary Division too and very soon, it will also emerge as a well integrated educational institute, well accepted and greeted by the people of Howrah.
