देखा हुआ है, इसलिए वह तो स्पष्ट निकट और अनुभवसिद्ध है, जबकि स्वर्गादि का या मोक्ष का सुख तो परोक्ष है, अतः उसका अनुभव ही नहीं होता ॥१३॥ दृशोः स्मरविषं शुष्येत् क्रोधतापः क्षयं व्रजेत् । औद्धत्यमलनाशः स्यात् समतामृतमज्जनात् ॥१४॥
भावार्थ : समतारूपी अमृत के कुंड में स्नान करने से आँखों से कामविष सूख जाता है, क्रोध का ताप क्षीण हो जाता है, उद्धतता (उद्दण्डता)-रूपी मल नष्ट हो जाता है। जरामरणदावाग्निज्वलिते भवकानने । सुखाय समतैकैव पीयूषघनवृष्टिवत् ॥१५॥
भावार्थ : जरा और मृत्युरूपी दावाग्नि से जलते हुए इस संसाररूपी वन के लिए, सुख-शान्ति के लिए अमृतमय मेघवृष्टि के समान एक समता ही है ॥१५॥ आश्रित्य समतामेकां निर्वृता भरतादयः । नहि कष्टमनुष्ठानमभूत्तेषां तु किञ्चन ॥१६॥
