भावार्थ : जो चिरकाल तक उपयोग में आता है, तथा विभावरूपी वायु जिसका हरण नहीं कर सकती, उस शील के सौरभ के सिवाय जगत् में अन्य किसीसे भी प्रीति करना उचित नहीं है ॥१०॥
मधुरैर्न रसैरधीरता क्वचनाऽध्यात्मसुधालिहां सताम् । अरसैः कुसुमैरिवालिनां प्रसरत्पद्मपरागमोदिनाम् ॥११॥
भावार्थ : विकसित कमलों के पराग में मुदित होने वाले भौंरों को जैसे नीरस पुष्पों में कोई आतुरता नहीं होती, वैसे ही अध्यात्मरूपी अमृत का आस्वादन करने वाले सत्पुरुषों को पौद्गलिक मधुर रसों में कहीं भी अधीरता नहीं होती ॥ ११ ॥ विषयमायतिभिर्नु किं रसैः स्फुटमापातसुखैर्विकारिभिः । नवमेऽनवमे रसे मनो यदि मग्नं सतताविकारिणि ॥१२॥
भावार्थ : निर्दोष और सतत् विकाररहित नौवें शान्तरस में यदि मन मग्न हो गया हो तो उसे भयंकर (विषम) परिणाम वाले, ऊपर ऊपर से ( भोगकाल में ही ) सुखकारक एवं विकारयुक्त अन्य रसों से क्या लाभ है? कुछ भी नहीं ॥१२॥ मधुरं रसमाप्य निष्पतेद् रसनातो रसलोभिनां जलम् । परिभाव्य विपाकसाध्वसं, विरतानां तु ततो दृशोर्जलम् ॥१३॥
