भावार्थ : जिस प्रकार अपायों से रहित तथा अनुभवमात्रगोचर आत्मस्वरूप योगियों को मोदकारक होता है, उस प्रकार अन्यजनों द्वारा देखने योग्य अपायों से व्याप्त (नाशवान) एवं चर्मचक्ष का विषय यह शारीरिक रूप (सौन्दर्य) प्रीतिकारक नहीं होता ॥७॥ गति-विभ्रम-हास्य-चेष्टितैर्ललनानामिह मोदतेऽबुधः । सुकृताद्रिपविष्वमीषु नो विरतानां प्रसरन्ति दृष्टयः ॥८॥
भावार्थ : मूर्ख आदमी इस (चक्षु के) विषय में स्त्रियों की गति (चालढाल), विलास, हास्य और चेष्टाओं को देखकर आनन्द पाते हैं, लेकिन सुकृतरूपी पर्वत का भेदन करने में वज्र के समान इन स्त्रियों के विषय में विरक्तजनों की दृष्टियाँ जरा भी नहीं दौड़तीं ॥८॥ न मुदे मृगनाभि-मल्लिका-लवली-चन्दनचन्द्रसौरभम् । विदुषां निरुपाधिबाधितस्मरशीलेन सुगन्धिवर्मणाम् ॥९॥
भावार्थ : उपाधिरहित रूप में कामदेव के बाधक शील से जिनके शरीर सुगन्धित हैं, उन विद्वानों को कस्तूरी, मालतीपुष्प, लवंगलता, चन्दन और कपूर की सौरभ आनन्ददायक नहीं होती ॥९॥ उपयोगमुपैति यच्चिरं, हरते यन्न विभावमारुतः । न ततः खलु शीलसौरभादपरस्मिन्निह युज्यते रतिः ॥१०॥
