________________ भावार्थ : रोगी मनुष्य कितनी भी अच्छी औषध लेता हो, परन्तु कुपथ्य का सेवन करता हो तो उसे औषध लाभदायक नहीं होता; इसी प्रकार जो जीव तप, जप, आदि क्रिया शुद्ध करता हो, परन्तु विषय-वासना का त्याग नहीं करता; उसे क्रियादि से कोई लाभ नहीं होता । वह उन क्रियाओं से संसार से मुक्त नहीं हो सकता ॥६॥ न चित्ते विषयासक्ते वैराग्यं स्थातुमप्यलम् । अयोघन इवोत्तप्ते निपतन् बिन्दुरम्भसः ॥७॥ भावार्थ : जैसे तपे हुए लोहे के घन पर जलबिन्दु नहीं टिक सकते, वैसे ही विषयासक्त जीव के मन में वैराग्य नहीं टिक सकता ॥७৷৷ यदीन्दुः स्यात् कुहुरात्रौ फलं यद्यवकेशिनि । तदा विषयसंसर्गिचित्ते वैराग्यसंक्रमः ॥८ ॥ भावार्थ : यदि अमावस्या की रात को चन्द्रमा का उदय हो जाए, यदि बांझ वृक्ष फल दे दे तो विषयीजीव के हृदय में वैराग्य का संक्रमण हो; अर्थात् ये दोनों बातें जैसे त्रिकाल में भी सम्भव नहीं हैं; वैसे ही विषयासक्त चित्त में भी वैराग्य कदापि संभव नहीं ॥८॥ भवहेतुषु तद्वेषाद्विषयेष्वप्रवृत्तितः । वैराग्यं स्यान्निराबाधं भवनैर्गुण्यदर्शनात् ॥९॥ ४६ अध्यात्मसार
