If a man thoughtfully closes his eyes and tranquilly views his conduct, he will feel for himself that proud conduet brings shame. ( 43 ) અભિમાનચેષ્ટા પરિણામે પેાતાને શરમાવનારી છે—
“ આખા મીંચી, શાંતિમાં હ્રદયને Àડી જ્યારે વિચાર ઉપર આવીએ છીએ, ત્યારે આપણી પૂર્વકૃત અભિમાનચેષ્ટા ખરેખર આપણને શરમ ઉપજાવે છે. આ બાબતમાં દરેકને પેાતાને અનુભવ સાક્ષી પૂરે છે”—૪૩
निरभिमानमभिष्टौति
महाव्रताम्भोरुहरात्रिणा च तपः सुधादीधितिराहुणा च । न यो जनः सञ्चरतेऽभिमानाध्वना स धन्यः सुरगेयकीर्त्तिः ॥ ४४॥
That man, who does not tread the path of pride which is like a night to the lotus in the form of great vows and which acts like Rahu to the moon of austerities, is blessed and his glory is extolled by gods. ( 44 )
અભિમાનરહિતની સ્તુતિ—
મહાવ્રતરૂપ કમળાની સ્ડામેં રાત્રિના સમય સમાન અને તપરૂપ ચન્દ્ર આગળ રાહુસમાન એવા અભિમાનના રસ્તે જે મનુષ્ય સચરા નથી, તે ખરેખર ધન્ય છે અને તેને યશાવાદ સુરલાક સુધી ગવાય

मानप्रकरणमुपसंहरति
'
भवस्वरूपं परिचिन्त्य तस्माद् निवार्यतां मानभुजङ्गमोऽयम् । नैवामृतं तत्सहचारितायां भवेत् परं मोहविषोपभोगः ॥ ४५ ॥
Therefore realising the nature of this phenomenal world, keep off the pride-serpent. Its association
