ज्ञानी कर्मों का कर्ता नहीं होता
--
परमप्पाणमकुव्वं अप्पाणं पि य परं अकुव्वंतो । सो णाणमओ जीवो कम्माणमकारगो होदि ॥
जो पर को अपने रूप नहीं करता और जो अपने को भी पर रूप नहीं करता, वह ज्ञानी जीव कर्मों का कर्ता नहीं होता।
अज्ञानी अपने विकारी भाव का कर्ता है

The knowing Self, who does not engender feelings of non-self as self, and self as non-self; that Self does not become the causal agent of various karmas.

तिविहो सुवओगो अप्पवियप्पं करेदि कोहो ह । कत्ता तस्सुवओगस्स होदि सो अत्तभावस्स ॥

यह (मिथ्यात्व, अज्ञान और अविरति रूप) तीन प्रकार का उपयोग 'मैं क्रोध हूँ' ऐसा आत्मविकल्प करता है। वह आत्मा उस उपयोग रूप अपने भाव का कर्ता होता है।
The Self, conditioned by the three impurities (erroneous faith, nescience, and non-abstinence), indulges in such self-assertions as "I am anger". That Self becomes the causal agent of impure modifications in his consciousness.
