________________ INTRODUCTION Nṛtyaratnakosa : Nṛtyaratnakosa, published in two parts in the Rajasthāna Purātana Granthamālā, is a part of a bigger work called Samgitarāja, which is described in the colophons as a Samgita-mimāṁsā consisting of 16,000 verses (S'odaşasahasri). The Saṁgitaraja contains the following Ratnakosas: (1) Pathyaratnakos'a, (2) Gitaratnakosa, (3) Vädyaratnakosa, (4) Nṛtyaratnakos'a and (5) Rasaratnakosa. Of these, Pathyaratnakoşa edited by Dr. C. Kunhan Raja was published in Bikaner in Ganga Oriental Series, as No. 4, in 1946. I Critical Apparatus: The present edition of Nṛtyaratnakos'a is based on the following three manuscripts : M8. A. Place of deposit - Anup Sanskrit Library, Bikaner. Material - Paper. Folios 144. Size - 7-3/4"x3-1/2"; A page contains about 8 lines and a line about 44 letters. - Extent - Four Ullasas. Each Ullasa contains four Parikṣaṇas. Script Devanagari Date not mentioned. Appears to be about 300 years old. - No. 3518. Ms. B.. Place of deposit - Oriental Institute, Baroda, No. 9931 Material Paper Folios 144 Size 10-1/2" X 4-1/2"; A page contains about 8 lines and a line about 43 letters. Extent Four Ulläsas, each with four Parikṣaņas. Script - Devanagari. Date Not mentioned. Appears to be about 300 years old.
