भावार्थ : बाह्यबुद्धि वाले लोगों में विदूषकों (अथवा दाम्भिकों) की बाह्य क्रियाओं के प्रति प्रीति होती है। ये बाह्यक्रियाएँ श्रद्धा के बिना सत्पुरुषों के लिए प्रमाणरूप नहीं हैं, क्योंकि उनके विषय में शास्त्र (तथा अन्य ग्रन्थों) में भी कहा है ॥३५॥ बालः पश्यति लिंगं, मध्यमबुद्धिर्विचारयति वृत्तम् । आगमतत्त्वं तु बुधः परीक्ष्यते सर्वयत्नेन ॥३६॥
भावार्थ : बाल (अज्ञानीजन) लिंग (वेष) को देखता है, मध्यमबुद्धि वाला मनुष्य आचरण पर विचार करता है, किन्तु पण्डितपुरुष समस्त प्रयत्न से आगमतत्व की ही परीक्षा करता है ॥३६॥ निश्चित्यागमतत्त्वं तस्मादुत्सृज्य लोकसंज्ञां च । श्रद्धाविवेकसारं यतितव्यं योगिनां नित्यम् ॥३७॥
भावार्थ : इस प्रकार आगमतत्व का निश्चय करके लोकसंज्ञा का परित्याग कर योगी को निरन्तर श्रद्धा और विवेक के लिए शुद्धिपूर्वक प्रयत्न करना चाहिए ॥३७॥ निन्द्यो न कोऽपि लोके, पापिष्ठेष्वपि भवस्थितिश्चिन्त्या । पूज्या गुणगरिमाढ्या, धार्यो रागो गुणलवेऽपि ॥३८॥
