________________ इच्छुक एव वैराग्याकांक्षी पुरुष ही अध्यात्मशास्त्र को सुनना चाहता है ॥१७४॥ दिशः प्रदर्शकं शाखाचन्द्रन्यायेन तत्पुनः । प्रत्यक्षविषयां शंकां नहि हन्ति परोक्षधी: ॥ १७५॥ भावार्थ : यह शास्त्र शाखाचन्द्रन्याय से केवल दिशा दिखा देता है, परन्तु परोक्षज्ञान प्रत्यक्षविषयक शंका का निवारण नहीं करता ॥१७५॥ शंखे श्वेत्यानुमानेऽपि दोषात्पीतत्वधीर्यथा । शास्त्रज्ञानेऽपि मिथ्याधीसंस्काराद् बन्धधीस्तथा ॥ १७६ ॥ भावार्थ : जैसे शंख में श्वेतत्व (सफेदपन) का ज्ञान होते हुए भी दोष के कारण उसमें पीतत्व (पीलेपन) की बुद्धि होती है, वैसे ही शास्त्र का ज्ञान होते हुए भी मिथ्याबुद्धि के संस्कार से आत्मा में बंध की बुद्धि होती है ॥ १७६ ॥ श्रुत्वा मत्वा मुहुः स्मृत्वा साक्षादनुभवन्ति ये । तत्त्वं न बन्धधीस्तेषामात्माऽबन्धः प्रकाशते ॥ १७७॥ भावार्थ : जो बार - बार तत्त्व सुनकर उस पर मनन करके, तथा उसका स्मरण करके साक्षात् अनुभव करते हैं, उन्हें बन्ध की बुद्धि नहीं होती, उन्हें आत्मा अबन्ध (बन्धरहित ) प्रकाशित होती है ॥ १७७॥ द्रव्यमोक्षः क्षयः कर्मद्रव्याणां नात्मलक्षणम् । भावमोक्षस्तु तद्धेतुरात्मा रत्नत्रयान्वयी ॥१७८॥ अधिकार अठारहवाँ २७३
