मुनित्व का अस्तित्व बतलाता है, उसका नाम लेने से भी पाप लगता है ॥१५॥ कुर्वते ये न यतनां सम्यक्कालोचितामपि । तैरहो यतिनाम्नैव दाम्भिकैर्वञ्च्यते जगत् ॥१६॥
भावार्थ : जो साधु पंचमकाल अथवा अपनी अवस्था के योग्य उचित यतना (संयमक्रिया, व्रतरक्षा आदि) भी नहीं करते, वे कपटी (दाम्भिक) केवल ढोंग रचकर साधु के नाम से जगत् को ठगते हैं ॥१६॥ धर्मीति ख्यातिलोभेन प्रच्छादित-निजाश्रवः । तृणाय मन्यते विश्वं हीनोऽपि धृतकैतवः ॥१७॥
___ भावार्थ : जिसने धार्मिक के रूप में अपनी प्रसिद्धि की महत्त्वाकांक्षा से अपने पापों को ढंक दिया है, वह ढोंगी साधु कपट रचकर अपने आपमें चारित्रहीन होने पर भी जगत् को तृणवत् तुच्छ समझता है । अहो ! मक्कार लोगों की कैसी विडम्बना है ! ॥१७॥ आत्मोत्कर्षात्ततो दम्भी परेषां चापवादतः । बध्नाति कठिनं कर्म बाधकं योगजन्मनः ॥१८॥
भावार्थ : फिर वह दम्भी अपनी बड़ाई और दूसरों की निन्दा करके योगोत्पत्ति में बाधक कठोर कर्मो का बन्धन कर लेता है, जिससे वह नरकादि दुर्गति में जाता है ॥१८॥ २६
