________________ स्थिर करता है, तथा उसे आत्मा के अधीन (उसमें तल्लीन) कर देता है ||१६|| अतएवादृढस्वान्तः कुर्याच्छास्त्रोदितां क्रियाम् । सकलां विषयप्रत्याहरणाय महामतिः ॥ १७॥ भावार्थ : इसलिए जिसका मन दृढ़ नहीं है, उस महामति पुरुष को मन को विषयों से वापस खींचने के लिये शास्त्रोक्त समस्त क्रियाएँ करनी चाहिए ||१७| श्रुत्वा पैशाचिकीं वार्तां कुलवध्वाश्च रक्षणम् । नित्यं संयमयोगेषु व्यापृतात्मा भवेद्यतिः ॥ १८ ॥ भावार्थ : पिशाच (भूत) की और कुलवधू की रक्षा की कथा सुनकर मुनि को सदा चारित्र के आचरण में ओतप्रोत हो जाना चाहिए । उक्त दोनों कथाएँ क्रमशः इस प्रकार हैं - ॥१८॥ या निश्चयैकलीनानां क्रिया नातिप्रयोजनाः । व्यवहारदशास्थानां ता एवातिगुणावहाः ॥ १९ ॥ भावार्थ : जो क्रियाएँ केवल निश्चय में ही लीन हुए मुनियों के लिए अतिप्रयोजन वाली नहीं है, वे ही क्रियाएँ व्यवहारदशा में रहे हुए साधकों के लिए अत्यन्त गुणकारक हैं ॥१९॥ कर्मणोऽपि हि शुद्धस्य श्रद्धामेधादियोगतः । अक्षतं मुक्तिहेतुत्वं ज्ञानयोगानतिक्रमात् ॥२०॥ अधिकार पन्द्रहवाँ १७३
