देता है, दोषरूपी वृक्ष को रस से सींचता है, और समत्व नाम के मीठे स्वादिष्ट फलों को नीचे फेंक देता है ॥६॥ असद्ग्रहग्रावमये हि चित्ते न क्वापि सद्भावरसप्रवेशः । इहांकुरश्चित्तविशुद्धबोधः सिद्धान्तवाचां बत कोऽपराधः ॥७॥
भावार्थ : कदाग्रहरूपी पाषाणमय चित्त में कभी सद्भावरूपी रस का प्रवेश नहीं हो पाता । ऐसे कठोर चित्त पर मनोविशुद्धियुक्त बोधरूपी अंकुर कदापि पैदा नहीं होता, इसमें सिद्धान्त-वाणी का क्या दोष है? ॥७॥ व्रतानि चीर्णानि तपोऽपि तप्तं, कृता प्रयत्नेन च पिण्डशुद्धि । अभूत्फलं यत्तु न निहवानामसद्ग्रहस्यैव हि सोऽपराधः ॥८॥
भावार्थ : व्रतों का पालन किया, तपश्चर्या भी की, प्रयत्नपूर्वक पिण्डविशुद्धि (आहारशुद्धि) भी रखी, किन्तु निह्नवों को उनका फल नहीं मिला; वास्तव में इसमें उनके हठाग्रह का ही अपराध है ! ॥८॥ स्थालं स्वबुद्धिः सुगुरोश्च दातुरूपस्थिता काचन मोदकाली । असद्गृहः कोऽपि गले गृहीता, तथापि भोक्तुंन ददाति दुष्टः ॥९॥
भावार्थ : अपनी बुद्धिरूपी थाली है, और उसमें सुगुरुरूपी दाता से कोई अपूर्व मोदकराशि भी प्राप्त हुई है, तथापि कोई दुष्ट कदाग्रह इस प्रकार गला पकड़ लेता है कि उन्हें खोने नहीं देता ॥९॥ १६२
