વળી, બીજા એક કરારખતમાં જહાંગીર કહે છે:
“Whatever goods come from your kingdom hither unto me of any kind or shall go to you from my kingdom shall receive no hindrance nor impediment but shall pass with honour and friendship.”

“It is not for nothing that thou (Shah Jehan) art in Ahmedabad. The bud was here, the blossom and fruit to be in Agra. Everything has a beginning, Greece before Rome, Damascus before Cairo, Agra follows Ahmedabad."

૨૦. આચાર્ય કૃપાલાનીના ગૂજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠમાંથી વિદાયપ્રસંગે, તા. ૭–૨–૧૯૨૮ના રોજ અંબાલાલ સારાભાઈના પ્રમુખપદે અમદાવાદના શહેરીઓ અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓની એક સભા મળી હતી. તેમાં આચાર્યે કરેલા વ્યાખ્યાનમાં ગુજરાતના ગુણદોષનું સચોટ વિશ્લેષણ જોવા મળે છે, જે વિશેષતા અમદાવાદને લાગુ પડે. તેમના વક્તવ્યના કેટલાક અંશ આ રહ્યા :
