સાઈટીનું સુધારેલું બંધારણ In one important respect England differs conspiciously from most other countries. Her constitution is to a large extent unwritten, using the word in much the same sense as when we speak of unwritten law. Its rules can be found in no written document, but depend, as so much of Engligh law does, on precedent modified by a constant process of interpretation. Many rules of the constitution have in fact a purely legal history, that is to say, they have been developed by the law Courts, as part of the general body of the common law.

ગુજરાતમાં સાઈટી એ પહેલ વહેલી સાહિત્ય અને કેળવણી વિષયક સાર્વજનિક સંસ્થા હતી અને સન ૧૮૪૮ માં એની સ્થાપના કરવામાં આવી ત્યારે તેના સભાસદો થોડાક અપવાદ બાદ યુરોપિયન અધિકારીઓ અને મિશનરી હતા. એ પરિસ્થિતિમાં સોસાઈટીના વહિવટ સારું કામ પુરતા નિયમો ઘડી કાઢવામાં આવ્યા હતા, તે પછી પચ્ચીસ વર્ષે બદલામેલા સંજોગોમાં અને વધતા જતા કામકાજને પહોંચી વળવા જુના નિયમ ફરી તપાસી વિચારી સસાઈટોના બંધારણને ખરડે નવેસર પલ્સાર કરવામાં આવ્યો હતે.
જેમ નવા સંજોગે ઉભા થતા ગયા અને સંસાઈટીના વહિવટમાં અડચણ થવા માંડી, તેમ સેસાઇટીના સંચાલકે તેના ધારાધોરણમાં વખતે વખત ફેરફાર, સુધારા અને ઉમેરા કરતા રહેતા. અને એવા સંજોગોમાં ક્યાં કયે સુધારે કર્યો અથવા શા સારૂ નવી કલમ ઉમેરી, એ સઘળી હકીકત સાઈટીના ઇતિહાસ વિભાગ ૨ માં નોંધેલી છે. • જુઓ સાયટીને ઇતિહાસ વિભાગ ૧ પૃ. ૨૧૯ + છ = છે , ૨ પૃ. ૨૦૦
