લાલશંકરભાઈને સ્વભાવ એ આગ્રહી અને ખંતીલે હતા કે એકવાર ઉપાડેલું કાર્ય તેઓ તેને પૂરું કર્યા વિના છોડે નહિ.
આ પ્રમાણે ફંડની શરૂઆત થતાં તેમણે અમદાવાદના મે. કલેક્ટર સાહેબને સંસાઈટીના નવા મકાન માટે કારંજની સામે આવેલી સરકારી છૂટી જમીન આપવા સારૂ અરજી કરી. તેમાં સાઈટીને ઉદ્દેશ અને તેની પ્રવૃત્તિ વિષે ટુંકાણમાં જણાવી, તેને પડતી મકાનની મુશ્કેલીનો ઉલ્લેખ કરીને લખ્યું કે :
." The library owns 23 and the Society 13 of the building, the portion in which the Society's office is held is too small for the present extensive work which is day by day increasing. The library is also much inconvenienced in the remaining portion. The Society thinks of erecting another building for its office if a suitable site is obtained. There is an ope: ground opposite to the Karanj Bag and to the right-hand side of the road from the Karanj to Jamalpur, which is quite suitable for the purpose.
I therefore request that you will be kind en. ough to grant, or if necessary obtain from Government permission, 700 square yards or as much ground as is available on this site to the Society for its office.
This arrangement will add to the beauty of the locality and to the roads. +
એક બાજુ સરકાર તરફ જમીન મળવા અરજી મોકલી અને બીજી તરફ સાઈટીની સામાન્ય સભામાં તે વિષે નીચે મુજબ ઠરાવ પસાર કરાવ્યું હતું – '
સેસાઇટીનું હાલનું મકાન નાનું પડવાથી બીજું મકાન બંધાવવા જમીન મળવા વિષે મહેરબાન કલેકટર સાહેબને અરજ કરતાં તે સંબંધી
