निस्तार
पौषधागारे परित्यक्ता । गुरुभिरुपलक्षिता | निषद्यादर्शनात् ज्ञातमरणाः शिष्याणां रौद्रध्यानं गताः। 105.13-14. [The vocable निषद्या ordinarily means ' a seat-generally made of wool' or a posture'. It also means an Upāśraya wherein a monk sits. In the present context, however, it appears-to have been used as a synonym of Efathé woolen broom carried by Jaina monks for removing dust'. The Abhidhānarājendra gives two words णिसज्जा and णिसिज्जा (<Skt. निषद्या) in all the three connotations. However, the meaning of fagen given by us is also supported by the same authority; vide vol. IV, p. 2140°, ll. 5-6:
