छन्दोदर्शनम्
पूर्णा प्रतिमा प्रमाणभूतं प्रतीकम्, पूर्णबिन्दुरूपस्य पूर्णात्मकस्य ब्रह्मणः वाचकं सत् प्रतीकं तत् वाक्स्वरस्वरूपं अनुस्वारात्मकमेव भवितुमर्हतीति भावः, वाग्विभूतिरेवेदं विश्वमिति ||
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Oh Sarasvati! here in this world, by all means you are indeed the manifest Brahma. That is evident by your being all over the universe. You manifest the imperceptible Brahma, whom you only indicate, just as an anusvåra' or the sign of a dot on a letter indicates the sound but has no independent meaning. You are indeed that Vak, who is beyond the reach of the senses, you are indeed a verifiable image of Him who is full like a perfect point.
अष्टमी ऋक् ।
सर॑स्व॒ति॒ त्वं प्रति॑रूपा ब्रह्मणो
यदु॑ दृश्यते॒ यदु॑ श्रूयते॒ यदु॒च्यते॑ ॥
वाच एव सत्यं रूपमिदं विश्वं
वाक् प॑र॒मा ज्योति॒र्विश्वस्य दर्शयत् ॥ ८ ॥
पदपाठः - सरस्वति । त्वम् । प्रति॑ऽरूपा । ब्रह्मणः ।
यत् । ऊं इति॑ । दृश्यते । यत् । ऊं इर्त । श्रूयते । यत् । उच्यते॑ ।।
वाचः । एव । स॒त्यम् | रूपम् । इदम् । विश्वम् ।

वाक् । प॒र॒मा । ज्योति॑ः । विव॑स्य । द॒र्शय॑त् ।।
Oh Sarasvati! you are the very image of Brahma. All that is seen, heard, and expressed is Brahma, is Vak. This whole universe is the true form of Vak. Vak, or the Word, or the power of speech is the light of the flame which illuminates or gives us knowledge of the universe.
अन्वयभाष्यम् |
हे सरस्वति ! त्वं तस्य परब्रह्मण: प्रतिरूपा सर्वस्वभावेन स्वयं ब्रह्मस्वरूपा असि, अतः अस्मिन् प्रपञ्चे यद् यत् खलु प्रत्यक्षं परिदृश्यते, यद् यत् पुनः प्रत्यक्षं परोक्षं अपरोक्षं च श्रूयते, तथैव अपरोक्षादिकं यद् यद् वाचा उच्यते तदेतत् सर्वमपि वाच एव सत्यं प्रधानं रूपं भवति, परब्रह्मणस्तु तदेतत् सर्वमपि अप्रधानं गौणं गुणभूतं, तस्य नामरूप-गुण- क्रियादिरहितत्वात् तस्मात् सा परा वागेव विश्वस्य सर्वस्य अस्य जगतः दर्शयत् अवभासकं परं ज्योतिः, तत्परञ्ज्योतिःस्वरूपा वागिति ॥
॥ इति द्वितीयेऽनुवाके द्वितीयं सरस्वतीसूक्तं समाप्तम् ॥
