छन्दोदर्शनम्
अष्टमी ऋक् ।
यो मि॑माय व्याहृतिभिस्तिसृभिः पद्भिः पृथिवीं चान्तरिक्षं दिव॑म् ॥
त्रीणीमा भुव॑नान्य॒ तप॒स्यन् सेन्द्र॑मे॒व तं वृ॑णे॒ शङ् गम॑ध्यै ॥ ८ ॥
यः । मिमाय । व्याहृतिऽभिः । तिसृभिः । पत्ऽभिः । पृथि॒वीम् । च । अ॒न्तरि॑क्षम् । दिव॑म् ॥

त्रीणि॑ । इ॒मा । भुव॑नानि । अनु॑ । तप॒स्यन् ।
सः। इन्द्र॑म् । एव । तम् । वृणे । शम् । गम॑ध्यै ।
He measured with the help of these three steps in the form of Vyahṛtis, the earth, mid-air and sky. Keeping in mind these three worlds and practising tapas, I seek only Indra, the Lord of three worlds, to get peace.

अन्वयभाष्यम् |
यः इद्रः तिसृभिः ताभिरेव व्याहृतिभिः स्वकीयपादरूपाभिः पद्भिः व्याहृतिरूपैः पदैः पृथिवीं इमां अन्तरिक्षं मध्यमं दिवं च इत्येतद् भुवनत्रयं मिमाय स्वकीयपादमानतः कल्पयामास तत्समानं भावयामास, तानि इमानि त्रीणि भुवनानि तथा तद्भुवनत्रयबीजमन्त्र - क्षराणि च व्याहृतिरूपाणि अवलम्ब्य तपस्यन् सः अयमहं तं तदूव्याहृतित्रयमूलभूत अधिष्ठानात्मकं त्रिभुवनाध्यक्षं इन्द्र परमेश्वरमेव कल्याण प्राप्तुं शरणं व्रजामीति ||
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Indra with those three steps in the form of Vyahṛtis, measured the three worlds, i.e. Prthvi earth, Antariksha (mid-air ), and Dyau ( sky ). He made them equal in measurement. Bearing those three worlds or the seed letters representing those worlds in mind and practising tapas, I seek Indra, the origin of all the Vyahṛtis and the overlord of those three worlds. I seek him only for my welfare.
