NOTES. :: रायपसेणियसुत्त-राजप्रश्नीयसुत्र---

(1) Summary-Here Amalkappa city is referred. According to the usual practice the description of the city is ayoided by means of the method of abbreviation, effected by the use of the word nie, with first and last words in order to denote the intermediate : portion. These set passages of descriptions. recur. every-where with mathematical regularity, and for which the curious reader has to refer to some other book, e. g. here the student of ancient culture may naturally desire to have an inkling of ancient cities, but his curiosity is marred down by this method of abbreviation, and either he has to leave off everything' to his imagination or to refer to other Sutras. __(1) तेणं कालेणं तेणं समएणं IN THAT TIME, IN THAT EPOCH, The Instrumental sing. is used för Locative sing.
