(iv) a celestial being-the goddess of learning, one of the 16 Vidya-devis or a votary of the Jaina church, seem to be a special feature of the Svetām bara literature; for, up till now I have not come across such hymns composed by Digambara writers. Further, this feature is either an abridgement of the twenty-four such sets making up one hymn (see No. 146 of Vol. XIX, Pt. 1 ) or the latter is an extension based upon the principle underlying the former. At times the last three verses are so composed that they can be utilized for all the 24 Tirtharkaras, Stutitarangini (Pt. ) furnishes us with examples connected with this feature.
Some of the works dealt with in this Vol.XIX are non-Jaina. Of them the following are connected with the Brahmanical tantra:--

I » 440 All these five works form a part and parcel of the Jaina composite Ms. described by me as No. 737 in Vol. XVII, Pt. 3. It seems that there are about 10 additional Mss. of fagitara in the Government Manuscripts Library, and they are described by the ·late Dr. H. D. Sharma in his Vol. XVI, Pt. 2 ( in press ).
Tripurasto!ra is published as the first hymn of Pañcastavi in “ Kavyamāla ”.
The hymn No. 284 mentions names of flowers, fruits etc.
No. 329 furnishes us with a bija-koša (a vocabulary of , oj etc.) pertaining to incantations.
In connection with Appendix V I may note that some of the Jaina Mss. furnish us with references about an“ intercalary" month ( TEAIR). For the present I confine myself to the portions so far published and note the year of the Vikarama era, the month and the serial No. of the Ms. concerned. They are as under:
