ANWĀR-I-SUHAILI (A book on good counsel illustrated with animal fables) Foll. 239; size 29 x 19 cm; paper; Nast'aliq script; 15 lines to a page; Persian, dated A.H. 1005 (A.D. 1596-97). Author: Mullā Husain ibn ‘Ali, Wāiz-al-Kashifi (A.D.1495); scribe: Maulana ‘Abdur Rahim al-Harwi. Colophon: In translation reads : “Finished at the hand of the humble and the sinner Abdur Raḥmān-al-Harwi. May God conceal his defects and forgive his sins. Written in the Metropolis, Lahore, A.H. 1005 Finis," A royal copy with 27 illustrations of the Akbar school. The names of the artists include: Basawan, Jagannath, Farrukh Chela, Dharamdas, Mukund, Miskin, Mahesh, Sanwala, Manohar, Shankar, Lachhman, Madho, Bishandas and Anant.
