लाख रुपये, श्री रतिभाई नाणावटी ने एक लाख रुपये, श्री नवलभाई फिरोदिया ने एक लाख पच्चीस हजार रुपये और अन्य जैन बन्धुओं की ओर से सवा दो लाख रुपये इस प्रकार कुल सात लाख रुपये एकत्र किये गये।
जैन चेयर का कार्य आरम्भ हो गया। विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति श्री दाभोलकर जी ने विशेष रूप से एक पत्र लिखकर आपश्री के प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त की है।
इसी प्रकार पूना विश्वविद्यालय के हिन्दी विभाग के अध्यक्ष डा. आनन्द प्रकाश जी दीक्षित श्रद्धय सद्गुरुवर्य के दर्शनार्थ उपस्थित हुए। उस समय उन्होंने विश्वविद्यालय के हिन्दी विभाग के अन्तर्गत एक स्वर्णपदक की स्थापना करने के लिए प्रार्थना की । विश्वविद्यालय में तत्सम्बन्धी व्यवस्था इसी वर्ष से कर दी गई है।
