कपाल कुहरे जिह्वा, प्रविष्टा विपरीतगा। भ्रवोरन्तर्गता दृष्टिर्मुद्रा भवति खेचरी॥ न रोगो मरणं तस्य, न निद्रा न क्षुधा तृषा । न च मूर्छा भवेत्तस्य, मुद्रां यो वेत्ति खेचरीम् ।।
-गोरक्षाशतक ६६-६७ जीभ को उलटकर कपाल कुहर-ताल में लगाना और दृष्टि को दोनों भौंहों के बीच में स्थापित करना खेचरीमुद्रा होती है। जो खेचरीमुद्रा को जानता है, वह न बीमार होता, न मरता, न सोता, न उसे भूख-प्यास लगती और न ही मूर्छा उत्पन्न होती है।

Westerners are very enthusiastic, courageous, sincere and hard-working. They are always awaiting with humility guidance from the East. I think that their scientific and technical knowledge, if coupled with our qualities of spiritual understanding and maturity, such as are embodied in Yoga, could perhaps, working hand in hand together, bring homosapiens-human beings-once again to the Vishva-shanti-Dharma, the religion meant for universal peace, which was founded by our ancient masters.
The people of the West are now discovering the light of Yoga. I hope that it will not one day be they who bring Yoga back to our country. The East is the origin of Yoga, and I pray that it will always remain that origin and will continue to preserve this great Art.
