त्रैवर्णिकाचा
स्नात्वा जलेन वा शीर्ष हस्तौ संशोध्य मृत्स्नया । परिधाय पटं धौतं प्रविशेत्स्त्रीर्महानसे ॥ २७ ॥
जलसे स्नानकर, मस्तक' और हाथोंको मिट्टीसे धोकर और धुली हुई धोती पहनकर स्त्रियाँ रसोई-घरमें जावें ॥ २७ ॥
चुल्ल्यां संशोध्य जीवादीन् पूर्वभस्म परित्यजेत् । निर्जन्तूनि सुशुष्काणि चेन्धनानि समानयेत् ॥ २८ ॥ अग्निं सन्धुक्षयेच्चुल्ल्यां प्रक्षाल्य थालिकास्ततः । स्वयं पाकविधिः कार्यो नानारससमन्वितः ॥ २९ ॥ घृतपकं पयःपाकं सूपोदनं सशर्करम् । आपूपव्यञ्जनान्येव भाग्यस्येद्धं फलं विदुः ॥ ३० ॥
वहां पर जीव-जन्तुओं को देखकर पहलेकी राखको निकालकर चूल्हेको साफ करे । फिर जीव-जन्तु रहित सूका ईंधन जलानेको लावे और चूल्हे में आग सुलगाबे | इसके बाद सब बर्तनों को धोकर स्वयं अनेक प्रकारका रसीला भोजन बनाबे । घीमें तली हुई पूरी आदि, दूधमें पकी हुई खीर वगैरह, दाल-भात, शक्करका हलुआ, लड्डू, पेड़े, बरफी आदि; पूवे (गुलगुले ), नमकीन सेव, भुंजिए आदि अपनी शक्तिके अनुसार बनाबे । इस तरहकी उत्तम उत्तम चीजोंका प्राप्त होना भाग्यका फल है ॥ २८-३० ॥
आदौ सन्तर्प्य सत्पात्रं भर्तारं च सुतादिकम् ।
गृहदेवश्च सन्तर्प्य ततः स्याद्भोजनं स्त्रियः ॥ ३१ ॥

स्त्रियाँ प्रथम सत्पात्रोंको आहार देकर बादमें पति-पुत्रोंको भोजन जिमा कर तथा गृह-देवतांका सत्कार करनेके पश्चात् आप भोजन करे ॥ ३१ ॥
इत्येवं पञ्च कर्माणि कथितानि सुयोषिताम् ।
नराणां कर्म षष्ठं तु व्यापारः कथ्यतेऽधुना ॥ ३२ ॥
इस तरह गृहस्थ स्त्रियोंके पाँच कर्तव्योंका कथन किया । अब पुरुषोंके कर्तव्योंका कथन करते हैं ॥ ३२ ॥
