Mother :
The name of the mother of Kālasena was Jasamāmbikā. Chief Queen:
His chief queen's name was Slri-Karmavati-Lașumā (or Lakhumā) Devi? She came from the family of Nikumbha-chieftains.
We have some evidence regarding the existence of the Nikumbhaamsa. Two inscriptions of this family?,- one of the Saka year 1075= 1153 A. D. of Govana - III and the other of the S'aka year 1128=1206 A D, mentioning a grant of a village to a college for the study of the
works of Bhāskarācārya, - have been published. From these two ins...criptions the following pedigree is given by Bühler,
Nikumbhavamsa 1. Krsnarāja - I ( about 1000 A. D.) 2. Govana - 1 3. Govindrāja 4. Govana - II 5. Kļņarāja - II
aja - married Sridevi of the Sagara race, regent after his
death.

*. From an inscription of Sonhaďadeva we learn that the Nikumbba. vas'a was a feudatory family of the Yādavas of Devagiri'. The Yadava
: :1. The name in the three Pras'astis of the P, R. K. Pp. 18 38 and 55 is Laghu
mādevi, but in the every long Pras'asti (p.75) the name is Lakhumādevi as above. 2. A grant of a prince named Prithivivallabha-Nikumbhallas'akti of Sendraka
family was issued from Bagumra of Baroda territory on the 8th August, A.D.655 He was in charge of Lāta. See B. G. Vol. I, Part II. pp. 311 and 360. We cannot say whether this Nikumbhallas'akti has anything to do with the Nikumbha.
