भारतमे प्रत्येक जातिमे वीर पुरष हुए है । राजपूताना सदासे वीरस्थल रहा है । जैनधर्ममे दया प्रधान होते हुए भी वे लोग अन्य जातियोसे पीछे नही रहे हैं । गताब्दियोसे राजस्थानमे मत्री आदि उच्चपदोपर बहुधा जैनी रहे है, उन्होने देशकी आपत्तिके समय महान् सेवाएँ की है, जिनका वर्णन इतिहासम मिलता है ।" भारतीय इतिहास प्रसिद्ध सम्राट् विम्वसार-श्रेणिक जैनधर्मका आधार स्तम्भ था। उसके पुत्र अजातशत्रु – कुणिक जैनधर्मके सरक्षक प्रतापी नरेश थे। कलिग, उत्तर भारत तथा पश्चिमोत्तर सीमाप्रातपर जैन नरेश नदवर्धनका शासन था। ग्रीकनरेश सिकदरके सेनापति सिल्युकसको जैन सम्राट् चद्रगुप्तने ही पराजित कर भारतीय साम्राज्यकी सीमाको अफगानिस्तान पर्यंत विस्तारित किया था । स्मिथ महाशय ने लिखा है कि "मैं अव इस बातको स्वीकार करता हूँ कि सभवत यह परम्परा मूलमे यथार्थ हैं कि चद्रगुप्तने वास्तवमे साम्राज्यका परित्याग कर जैन मुनिका पद अगी - कार किया था। प्रतापी चद्रगुप्तको आधुनिक अन्वेषणकार जैन प्रमा
