________________ ( 13 ) ॥ वर्गऽन्यो वा ॥ २८।१। अनुस्वारस्य वर्गे परे तत्य व वर्गस्यान्यो वा भवति । When any consonant of the five classes (वर्ग) immediately follows, Anuswóra may optionally become the nasal of the class to which the letter belongs, as-पंको, पङ्को (पङ्कः); कञ्चुत्रो, कंचुत्रो (कञ्चकः); संका, सङ्का (शङ्का); संखो सङ्खो (गङ्खः) ; सतरद, सन्तरद् (संन्तरति); वर्ग इतिकिं Why do we use the word Barga in the sutra ? for in other cases Anusuvaira is not alterable ; as किंसुओ, (किंशुकः)। ॥ लिङ्गविवेकः ॥ ॥ प्रावृट् शरत्तरुण्यः पुंमि ॥ २८ । २ । प्रावृट् , शरत्, तरुणि इत्येताः शब्दाः पुंमि प्रयोकव्याः । The words právrish, sarad, and taruni although feminine are to be used in the masculine gender only, as पाउमो (प्रावट); मरो (शरत् ); तरुणी (तरुणिः); १ In Prakritaprakasa this sutra is more comprehensive. as “ययितदर्गान्तः” (२०.४) ie when any cosonant immediately follows except hb (ह) and the sibilants, Anuswara may optionally be the nassal of the class to which the letter belongs. २ प्राकृत प्रकाशे, कल्पलतिकायाञ्च सूत्रयमेवं वर्तते Prakritaprakasa und kalpalatika contain these two sutras as. " न सान्त प्रावृट शरदः पुसि" (Pra. 18.ch4). "न शिरो नमसी" (Pra. 19.ch4). Aho ! Shrutgyanam
