71. A man of low intcllect spends his life in vain by cherishing feelings of undus love for, and hatred, against others. Really speaking, true happiness and real peage are secured by him wbo has acquired equanimity of wind,
परोन्नती किं परिखिद्यसे वं परक्षतौ कि वहसे प्रमोदम् ? स्पृशन्ति नान्यं तव दुर्विकल्पास्त्वामेव बध्नन्ति तु कर्मपाशैः ॥ ७२ ॥
૭૨. બીજાની ઉન્નતિમાં તું ખિન્ન થાય છે અને બીજાની હાનિમાં ખુશ થાય છે એ શા માટે ? યાદ રાખ કે તારા દુષ્ટ વિકલ્પ બીજાને સ્પશતા નથી, પણ ઊલટું, તને જ કર્મના પાશમાં જકડે છે.
72. Why do you envy the rise of others ? Voy do you rejoice at their fall? Your evil thoughts do not affect any one alge, but on the contrary, they entrap you alone in the meshe, of Karna.
दुश्चिन्तनं यत् क्रियते परत्र प्रतिध्वनिः स्वं समुपैति तस्य । आघाततोऽन्यत्र विधीयमानात प्रत्याहतिः स्वं समुपस्थिता स्यात् ॥ ७३ ।।
૭૩. બીજાને માટે જે બુરું ચિંતવાય છે, તેની પ્રતિધ્વનિ પિતાની જ ઉપર પડે છે. માણસ બીજા પર આઘાત કરે છે, પણ તેના પ્રત્યાઘાત તેને પિતાને જ લાગે છે.
