५२ : तहेव मेहं व नहं व माणवं न देव देव त्ति गिरं वइज्जा । सम्मुच्छिए उन्नए वा पओए वइज्ज वा वुट्ठ बलाहय त्ति ॥
मेघ, आकाश तथा मनुष्य के लिए "यह देवता है" ऐसा वचन न कहे। हाँ मेघ के लिए "यह मेघ चढ़ा हुआ है", "यह बरसने वाला है", "ऊँचा आ रहा है", " बरस गया है" इत्यादि वचन कह सकता है ॥५२॥
52. About clouds, sky and man he should not say that this was a god. Instead, he should say – The clouds are hovering. It is going to rain. It is rising high. It has rained.
५३ : अंतलिक्खं त्तिणं बूया गुज्झाणुचरिअ त्ति अ । रिद्धिमंतं नरं दिस्स रिद्धिमंतं त्ति आलवे ॥
आकाश को अन्तरिक्ष एवं गुह्यानुचरित देवों के चलने का मार्ग है ऐसा कहे । इसी प्रकार सम्पत्तिशाली मनुष्य को सम्पत्तिशाली है ऐसा कहे ॥ ५३ ॥
53. For sky he could say – “It is space and is the path where the celestial bodies or divine things move." In the same way for a richly endowed man he should say "He is a talented person." ५४ : तहेव सावज्जणुमोयणी गिरा ओहारिणी जा अ परोवघाइणी
से कोह लोह भय हास माणवो न हासमाणो वि गिरं वइज्जा ॥
इसी प्रकार विचारशील मुनि ऐसी भाषा न बोले जो पापकर्म की अनुमोदना करने वाली, निश्चयकारिणी दूसरे जीवों को पीड़ा पहुँचाने वाली हो, तथा क्रोध, लोभ, भय एवं परिहास के वश होकर भी कोई वचन न बोले ॥ ५४ ॥

54. Thus a shraman should refrain from using such language that approves of sinful activities, conveys certainty, and is offending to other beings. So also he should not utter under influence of anger, greed, fear and mockery.
