MAULDUMAN
Estable; they have now grown; they have not yet flowered; the
ears are out now; now they are seed bearing ears. विशेषार्थ :
श्लोक ३५. इस श्लोक में धान की सभी अवस्थाओं का उल्लेख है। बीज बोने के पश्चात् जब बीज में से अंकुर निकलता है उस अवस्था को 'रूढ़' कहते हैं। धरती फोड़कर अंकुर बाहर निकलते हैं और पहली पत्ती बनती हैं उस अवस्था को ‘सम्भूत' कहते हैं। बीज में से धरती की ओर जब जड़ें फैलने लगती हैं उस अवस्था को 'स्थिर' कहते हैं। तना जब तक ऊपर की ओर बढ़ता है उस अवस्था को 'उत्सृत' कहते हैं। तना पूर्ण विकसित हो जाता है पर सिरे पर भुट्टा नहीं निकलता वह अवस्था ‘गर्भित' कहलाती है। भुट्टा निकलने की अवस्था 'प्रसूत' होती है और दाने पड़ जाने पर उसे 'संसार' कहते हैं। ELABORATION:
(35) This verse mentions the various stages of growth of a cereal plant. After sowing, when the seed sprouts it is called roodh. When the sprout emerges out of the soil and turns into first leaf it is called sambhoot. When the roots spread down from the seed it is called sthir. When the stalk grows upwards it is called utsrit. When the stalk reaches its maximum height but the ear is yet to grow it is called garbhit. When the ears are out it is called prasoot. When the ears are full of grains it is called sansaar.
३६ : तहेव संखडिं नच्चा किच्चं कज्जं तिं नो वए।
तेणगं वा वि वज्झि त्ति सुतित्थ त्ति य आवगा। ३७ : संखडिं संखडिं बूया पणिअट्ठ त्ति तेणगं।
बहुसमाणि तित्थाणि आवगाणं विआगरे॥ किसी गृहस्थ के घर पर संखडी-जीमनवार होता जानकर “यह पित्रादि निमित्त पुण्य-कार्य गृहस्थ को करना चाहिए" तथा चोर को देखकर यह चोर मारने योग्य है; तथा अच्छे घाट वाली नदी को देखकर "इस नदी का तीर अच्छा है"; इस प्रकार की सावध भाषा नहीं बोलनी चाहिए॥३६॥
