7. If while going for alms an ascetic comes across animals or birds of different species collected at a place for feeding, he should not go near them and move carefully so as to avoid them.
८ : गोयरग्ग पविट्ठो अ न निसीइज्ज कत्थई।
कहं च न पबंधेज्जा चिट्टित्ताण व संजए॥ ९: अग्गलं फलिहं दारं कवाडं वावि संजए।
अवलंबिया न चिठ्ठिज्जा गोयरग्गगओ मुणी॥ गोचरी के लिए गया हुआ मुनि कहीं पर भी न बैठे और न ही कहीं खड़ा होकर विशेष धर्मकथा या तत्त्वचर्चा करे। गोचरी के लिये घरों में गया हुआ पूर्ण यतनावान् श्रमण वहाँ की आगल का, परिघ का, द्वार का अथवा कपाट आदि का अवलम्बन लेकर, सहारा लेकर खड़ा न होवे।।८-९॥
8, 9. An ascetic out to collect alms should neither sit nor stand at a place in order to discuss religion or philosophy. That cautious shraman should also not stand leaning on the fastening bar of a door, door panel, the door itself or other such things. विशेषार्थ :
श्लोक ८-९, कह-कथा-कथा के तीन प्रकार हैं-धर्म कथा, वाद कथा, और निग्रह || कथा। साधु गृहस्थ के यहाँ जाकर, खड़ा होकर या बैठकर इनमें से किसी भी प्रकार की कथा का आयोजन न करे।
परिघ-नगर द्वार को बन्द करने के बाद पीछे से दिया जाने वाला पाट या बड़ी आगल।
