२१ : जत्थ पुष्फाइं बीयाइं विप्पइन्नाई कोट्ठए।
अहुणोवलित्तं उल्लं दणं परिवज्जए॥ जहाँ पर फूल और बीज बिखरे हुए हों, तथा जो स्थान अभी-अभी लीपा-पोता होने से गीला हो, उस स्थान को साधु दूर से ही देखकर छोड़ दे॥२१॥
21. An ascetic should avoid going near a place where seeds or flowers are scattered on the floor, or it is still wet after being freshly mopped or plastered or washed.
२२ : एलगं दारगं साणं वच्छगं वा वि कुट्ठए।
उल्लंघिया न पविसे विऊहित्ताण व संजए॥ कोठे (भवन या कक्ष) के दरवाजे पर यदि कोई बकरा, बालक, कुत्ता या बछड़ा आदि मिल जाय तो साधु को चाहिए कि वह उन्हें लाँधकर अथवा हटाकर घर में प्रवेश न करे॥२२॥
22. If an ascetic finds a goat, a child, a dog or a calf, etc. sitting or lying across the door, he should not enter the gate by crossing over or shifting them. विशेषार्थ : ___ श्लोक २२. चूर्णिकार ने बताया है-मेष आदि को हटाने से वह सींग मार सकता है। कुत्ता काट सकता है। पाड़ा, बछड़ा भयभीत होकर बंधन तोड़कर भाग सकता है। बालक को हटाने से उसे पीड़ा भी हो सकती है तथा गृह स्वामी को वह अप्रिय लग सकता है। इस प्रकार संयम विराधना एवं शरीर को हानि पहुँचाने की संभावना के कारण उक्त कार्यों का निषेध किया गया है। (जिनदासचूर्णि, पृ. १७६) ELABORATION:
(22) The commentators explain that in such situations there is a chance that the animals might bite or hit or run away out of fear. If it is a child it might get hurt or the parents might get angry. All these are detrimental to the discipline of the ascetic besides being physically harmful. (Jinadas Churni, page 176)
