________________ * The brave who are aware of equanimity eat stale and dry (tasteless) food. The ascetic who crosses the flow of life and death is called teern (one who has crossed), liberated and uninvolved. _-So I say. Elaboration-In this aphorism two words need special attention. The word samyak (right) includes right perception, right knowledge and right conduct. Maun means asceticism or the state of being an ascetic. In fact where there is right perception (etc.), asceticism is inevitable and vice versa. • END OF LESSON THREE लोकसार : पंचम अध्ययन ( २६९ ) Lokasara: Fifth Chapter Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
