१८. जय वीयराय ! सूत्र
सूत्र विभाग समाधि मरण = शांति पूर्वक मृत्यु / मृत्यु के समय सर्व सांसारिक वासनाओं का त्याग करना, पाप कार्यों की निंदा करना, सर्व जीवों से क्षमापना करना, शुभ भावनाओं में श्री अरिहंत आदि का शरण स्वीकार करना, नमस्कार महामंत्र का स्मरण करना एवं अनशन व्रत स्वीकार कर आत्मा में निर्मल भाव रखना.
| वैराग्य = संसार के भोग-विलासों को निःसार समझ कर आत्माभिमुख होकर जीवन सुधार या चारित्र ग्रहण के लिये उद्यम करना.
प्रतिक्रमण सूत्र सह विवेचन भाग
vairāgya = To make efforts for ennobling the life or to accept cāritra [give up worldly life] becoming engrossed in spiritual uplift considering all worldly pleasures to be meaningless.

18. jaya viyarāyal sutra samādhi marana [ecstatic death] = Peaceful death / To abandon all worldly | desires at the time of death, to censure all sinful deeds, to beg pardon from all living beings, to seek shelter [protection] of śri arihanta etc. with good thoughts, to recite navakāra mahāmantra constantly and to keep the soul in sacred thoughts accepting the vow of anasana [to fast giving up all types of nourishment with food, drinks and medicines].
