वक्तव्य। मुझे पण्डित विश्वेश्वरनाथ रेउ के लिखे मारवाड़ के इतिहास को अादि से अन्त तक अवलोकन करने का अवसर मिला । मैं इस देश का निवासी होने के कारण इसके प्राचीन गौरव से अवगत होने का दावा कर सकता हूं। यह करीब आठ सौ वों का लंबा इतिहास है और इसके तैयार करने में लेखक की आयु का श्रेष्ठ भाग व्यतीत हुआ है । निस्सन्देह उसने इसकी सामग्री एकत्रित करने, अनेक साधनों द्वारा उसकी सत्यता जाँचने और फिर सच्ची घटनाओं को सुचारु और समुचित रूपसे उपस्थित करने में अत्यन्त परिश्रन उठाया है।
समय-समय पर श्रीयुत रेउ का कार्य अवश्य ही कठिन और अप्रिय प्रतीत हुआ होगा । परन्तु उसने सच्चे ऐतिहासिक के कर्तव्य को कभी न भुलाया, और विना किसी भय या पक्षपात के वास्तविक घटनाओं और उनके सच्चे परिणामों का उचित रूप से चित्रण किया है।
मारवाड़ के राठोड़ों के इस गौरवमय इतिहास के साथ-साथ इसके लेखक का नाम भी अनन्तकाल तक बना रहेगा ।

() I have had the privilege and pleasure of revising the History of Marwar written by Pt. Bisheswar Nath Reu. I belong to this place and claim to know something of its ancient glory. It is a long record covering a period of about 800 years and its compilation has taken the writer the best part of a life time. He has no doubt taken infinite paing in collecting material, verifying the conten: 8 from various sources and tben presenting the proved facts in an interesting and proper forin.
At times Mr. Keu's task must have been irksome and unpleasant but he has alwe ye adhered to the true historian's principle and has with ut fear or favur presented facts and their con-equences in corect perspective
With this proud record of Rathors iu Marwar will go down the name of its writer to the end of time,
