भावार्थ : वास्तव में प्रकृति के गुण ही कर्मों को करते हैं; फिर भी अहंकार से मोहित (मूढ़) आत्मा (पुरुष) 'मैं कर्ता हूँ' ऐसा मानता है ॥५५॥
विचार्यमाणं नो चारु तदेतदपि दर्शनम् । कृतिचैतन्ययोर्व्यक्तं सामानधिकरण्यतः ॥५६॥
भावार्थ : विचार करने पर यह दर्शन भी सुन्दर नहीं है । क्योंकि बुद्धि और चैतन्य (पुरुष) का अधिकरण समान होने से उसकी असुन्दरता स्पष्ट है ॥५६॥
बुद्धिः कर्त्री च भोक्त्री च नित्या चेन्नास्ति निर्वृतिः । अनित्या चेन्न संसारः प्राग्धर्मादेरयोगतः ॥५७॥
भावार्थ : आपने बुद्धि को कर्त्री और भोक्त्री बताई; अगर वह बुद्धि नित्य हो तो मोक्ष नहीं होगा और यदि वह अनित्य हो तो संसार नहीं होगा, क्योंकि बुद्धि की उत्पत्ति से पहले धर्मादि का योग नहीं होता ॥५७॥
प्रकृतावेव धर्मादि-स्वीकारे बुद्धिरेव का ? सुवचश्च घटादौ स्यादीग्धर्मान्वयस्तथा ॥ ५८ ॥
भावार्थ : यदि प्रकृति में ही धर्मादि का स्वीकार करेंगे तो फिर बुद्धि किसे कहेंगे? और फिर इस प्रकार के धर्मादि के सम्बन्ध का कथन घटादि में भी अनायास ही हो जाएगा
