भावार्थ : शान्त, दान्त, सदा गुप्तेन्द्रिय, विश्व के प्रति वत्सल, मोक्षार्थी, साधक जो भी दम्भरहित क्रियाएँ करता है, वे आध्यात्मिक गुणों की वृद्धि के लिए होती हैं ॥७॥ अतएव जनः पृच्छोत्पन्नसंज्ञः पिपृच्छिषुः । साधुपाइँ जिगमिषुर्धर्मं पृच्छन् क्रियास्थितः ॥८॥ प्रतिपित्सुः सृजन् पूर्वं प्रतिपन्नश्च दर्शनं । श्राद्धो यतिश्च त्रिविधोऽनन्तांशक्षपकस्तथा ॥९॥ दृग्मोहक्षपको मोहशमकः शान्तमोहकः । क्षपकः क्षीणमोहश्च जिनोऽयोगी च केवली ॥१०॥
भावार्थ : इसी कारण प्रश्न पूछने की बुद्धिवाला भव्यप्राणी, प्रश्न पूछने का इच्छुक, साधुसन्तों के पास जाने का इच्छुक, धर्मजिज्ञासु, धर्मप्राप्ति का अभिलाषी, पूर्वप्राप्तदर्शन का सृजन-सम्पादनकर्ता (सम्यक्त्व नामक प्रथम गुणश्रेणी), श्राद्ध श्रावक (द्वितीय गुणश्रेणी), साधु (तीसरी गुणश्रेणी), तथा तीन प्रकार का अनन्तांशक्षपक, (चौथी गुणश्रेणी), दर्शनमोहनीय का क्षपक (पंचगुणश्रेणी), मोहशमक (छठी श्रेणी) शान्तमोह (सातवीं श्रेणी), क्षपक (८वीं श्रेणी), क्षीणमोह (९वीं श्रेणी), जिन (१०वीं श्रेणी) और अयोगीकेवली (११वीं श्रेणी), इस प्रकार क्रमशः ११ गुणश्रेणियों तक उत्तरोत्तर अध्यात्मगुणवृद्धि होती है ॥८-९-१०॥
