________________ Samādhitantram their respective tongue (ardhamāgadhi bhāṣā). The World Teacher is the sun that blossoms the soul-lotus of the worldly beings. His divine discourse is the rain of nectar-water that washes away the dirt of ignorance from all souls. He is the wish-fulfilling tree (kalpavykşa) for all those aspiring for liberation. Ācārya Samantabhadra's Ratnakarandaka-śrāvakācāra: अनात्मार्थं विना रागैः शास्ता शास्ति सतो हितम् । ध्वनन् शिल्पिकरस्पर्शान्मुरजः किमपेक्षते ॥ (C) The World Teacher (Āpta) is free from attachment and, therefore, delivers His discourse without self-interest for the well-being of the worthy (bhavya) souls; what does the drum (msdanga) long for as it makes sound on the touch of the drummer's hand? Ācārya Samantabhadra's Svayambhūstotra: कायवाक्यमनसां प्रवृत्तयो नाभवंस्तव मुनेश्चिकीर्षया । नासमीक्ष्य भवतः प्रवृत्तयो धीर तावकमचिन्त्यमीहितम् ॥ (84-8-68) O Embodiment of Knowledge! There were no desires involved behind the activities of your body, speech and mind. Also, these activities did not take place without any consideration. O Lord Resolute! Your ways are inconceivable. ........................
