પ્રાચીન કાવ્યનું' પ્રકાશન

"The mission which poets and philosophers feel within their heart, is to take their countrymen a step forward, a step in the line of progress and not a leap from one age to another X X x and judging by this standerd what native of Gujarat will not say that this poets have not made a gift of higher loves and cares to the countrymen? x x x But for these poets the people of Gujarat would have long since been turned into decayed and shrinken things; and if there is life left in them, the life-drops have been supplied by the poets. The poets have in fact wielded their power among the masses in the province and enriched at a time when there were no educationalists in the land, and it is upon the bases of the society as saved or raised by them that modern educationalists and writers have to construct their superstructure if they ever think of reaching the otherwise unwieldy masses. “ The Classical poets of Gujarat. TRIPATHI.) પ્રાચીન કાવ્યાનાં સંશોધન અને પ્રકાશન સારૂં સાસાઈટીને કવીશ્વર દલપતરામ સ્મારક ક્રૂડ મળેલું છે અને તેના વ્યાજની સારી રકમ જમે થયે મેનેજીંગ કમિટીએ પ્રેમાનંદ રચિત નળાખ્યાન અને સુભદ્રાહરણ એ એ પ્રસિદ્ધ કાવ્યાનુ નવેસર સશોધન કરાવી તે એડમાંથી છપાવવાને નિર્ધાર કર્યાં હતા. નળાખ્યાનનું આખ્યાન વડોદરાના માજી ન્યાયાધીશ દામુભાઈ ડાહ્યાભાઇ-જેમણે અગાઉ એ કાવ્યેાના કેટલાક ભાગ, શ્રીયુત છગનલાલ ઠાકોરદાસ મેાદીની સાથે સટીક સંપાદન કર્યાં હતા તેમને અને સુભદ્રા હરણનુ કાવ્ય, શ્રીયુત અબાલાલ બુલાખીરામ જાની-જાણીતા ગુજરાતી સપ્તાહિકના ઉપ-તંત્રી અને પ્રાચીન કાવ્ય સાહિત્યના મામિક અભ્યાસી-તે
