આર્થિક સ્થિતિ
પહેલાં લગભગ નહિવત્ હતા. આ સમગ્ર પરિસ્થિતિના પ્રતિભાવરૂપે ગુજરાતી સમાજના વિવિધ વર્ગો મે અને જ્ઞાતિઓમાંથી આવતા માણસોએ (અહી વિશ્લેષણની દૃષ્ટિએ ‘ગુજરાત' પ્રતિભાવ વ્યક્ત કર્યો કહેવા કરતાં એના વિવિધ ‘વર્ગા' અને ‘સામાજિક સ્તરની કોણી વધુ ઉપયોગી બની રહે છે.) આર્થિક રાષ્ટ્રવાદનું હથિયાર અજમાવ્યુ. પરદેશી શાસનના ચાકઠામાં પાંગરતી જતી આ વિવિધલક્ષી અને જટિલ પ્રક્રિયા આર્થિક પરિવર્તનના સંદર્ભમાં નવી અને અત્યંત સૂચક હતી.
