CHAPTER XXII
1. (1) The reading विधानं च is suggested by the first line of chap. XXI. The chap. XIX-XXX are alike and their colophons are identioal, but the opening lines in chap. XX, XXIV, and XXIX are different and loosely composed; the first line of chap. XIX also shows bad composition, but therein the word fafat occurs. In conformity with the colophous the opening lines in chap. XIX, XX, XXIV and XXIX as in the other chapters should contain the word विधानम् ।
(2) C. omits the first 12 lines of this chapter. 2. B. भक्त, I.J. मित्ती। 8. B. वादग. J. शं चामत्य for अध्यर्ध। 4. J. तद्वयं चोर्ध्वपादकम्।
The lines 5-7 are lost in J. 5. B. सत्रिमार्गाद्वभागं स्यादृर्वे ।
B. omits the next nine lines, 9-17. 9. I. गल for शिरः suggested by the sense and the other Nss. 10. I. मूलदं for मूलतः । 11. I. काह for कान्त । 14. B. दृर्वे कारकांशकं । 16. B. प्रस्तराञ्चदयं पादादूवं for प्रस्तरोोधं पादानं । 17. (1) B. द्विभागं for त्रिमार्ग। (2) I. कान्तकम् for कोनतम् suggested
by all other M88. 19. (1) B. शं च for द्वयांशं । (2) B. मूलं ।
20. I. मावृताल for चावृतालिन्द suggested by J. and the other Mss.
22. I. वदनभ्य for वर्गढ, B. वर्गखो प्रोक्तं ।
