292. Apparently there is a confusion in the reading of the lines 292,293, the idea seems to be olear: three directions, south, east and north are intended to be placed in order of merits.
(1) J. दक्षिलेतु । (2) I. adds स्वरं before बैब, J. प्राक् । 293. (1) All Mss. begin with प्राक् which is unnecessary here.
(2) I. दु for तू । (3) A. F. समं, B. शमागुरुतरस्वरम् for the last expression. 294. (1) I. जनवमसिवत् for जानिबलिं लिपेत् ।
(2) B. यदि श्रुतं ततरामकंदुष्वन्नमनुजायोग्यं । From the line 295 down to the end of the chapter, divisions of lines are distinctly of three kinds :
I. and J. each forming a separate group and A. B. F. forming another group. Of these three divisions last one is the right one owing to sequence and sense which has been followed in the text.
According to this order I. reads between 294 and 995 the lines 367397, and then repeats 415-422, then reads 329-366, 296-327, 399-440. And J. reads between 221 and 222 the lines 367-397, and between 327 and 328the lines 329-366,327-397 and 415-422.
294. (1) I. होमान्तं, A. B F. होमा । (2) A. F. तंत्रवत, B. कुर्वित प्रवाशे चार्थवत् सुधीः।
