The Sultan settles the succession to Yusuf's title and territory on Ismâ«ll, eldest son of the
latter. Confusion in Berar owing to the late Fath-Ullah's eldest son, 'Ali-ud-Din, being a prisoner in
Râmgir. He makes his escape, and succeeds to bis father's title and territory. Death of Khudâdâd Khwajah Jahîn: his title conferred on his eldest surviving son, Nur Khân. The latter is given Pareinda in exchange for Sandlậpur (Sholapur ?] which is given to Kamil
Khân, Ismê 11 'Adil Khân's general. The Sultan takes the fortress of Kalburgâ by force. Dastür Dinâr akes refuge with Barld. These two, with ķutb-ul-Mulk march on Bidar.
Dastur Dinkr's reputed son, Hamid Khân Habshi, is killed in battle. Peace arranged by 'Agamat-ul-Mulk, Ismail Adil Khân's ambassador at the Bahmani Court. Quarrel between Dastur Dinar and Barld. Embassy from Shah Isma'll Husaint Şafawi. Ungracious reception of a Shfah ambassador at a Sunni court. Rebellion of Bashir Khudáwind Khân, the feudatory of Mahúr. The Sultan, in August, 1517,
marebes with the army against him. Bashir applies to Alå-ud-Din 'Imid-ul-Mulk for assistance, which is given. A battle takes place : Bashir Khud&wind Khân's son, Ghalib Khan, is killed. Khudâwind Khân
fights valiantly, but is wounded, taken prisoner, and put to death. Mahûr given to Mahmud Khan, youngest son of Khud&wind Khân. The Sultan returns to
Bidar. Several of the principal amirs - too late to take part in this last expedition - now come to
court. The Sultan - taking advantage of the large forçe thus assembled - determines on a jihad. Arrived at Diwâni [?] a battle is fought, in which the Sultan is severely wounded; and this
puts a stop to the fighting. The allies disperse to their respective provinces. Barid accompanies the Sultân back to Bidar, and again assumes the government. An amár named Shajâ'at Khân baving carried off two of the Sultan's elephants, the other amfrs
of Bidar, anxious to get rid of Barid, suggest that the latter should be sent after Shuja'at
Khân. Barld overtakes Shuja'at Khân, kills him, and returns in triumph with the elephants, etc. Barld's power then becomes greater than ever. Death of the Sultân. Date of his death, age, and duration of his reign. The amirs - in spite of their quarrels among themselves - always loyal to their sovereign. Other historians give a different account of the latter part of the reign of Sultan Mahmud II. Anarchy in the Dakhan on the death of the Sultan, End of the Bahmani Dynasty.
