Being clever, there he could catch up the whole untold sentence even when the first word was uttered.
In the meantime, the hell-dwelling soul of Vijaya, having turned up from that hell, wandered again in this worldly existence. He did in the next birth such an action that he was born as a woman in the womb of Jayā, the wife of merchant Kārtika. She grew as the time went by. Her name was fixed Laxmi. She attained youth. On account of the incomprehensible nature of the consequence of actions, by the behests of destiny, he ( i.e. Dharana ) married her with great pomp.
