छन्दोदर्शनम
तृतीया ऋक् ।
य आ॑दित्यस्तप॑सा॒ द्योत॑ते॒ स्व?
यो॑ अ॒न्तरि॑क्षि॒ सह॒सेन्ध॒ इन्द्र॑ः ॥
यः पृ॑थि॒व्या॑ ज्योति॑षा॒ग्नी रोच॑ते॒
स स॑त्या॒ऽयम॒मृते॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दाः || ३ ||
पदपाठः— यः । आ॒दि॒त्यः । तप॑सा । द्योत॑ते । स्वरित स्त्रः ।

यः । अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे । सह॑सा । इन्धे । इन्द्र॑ः ॥
यः । पृथिव्याम् । ज्योति॑षा । अग्निः । रोच॑ते ।
सः। सत्यः । अयम् । अमृतः । विश्ववेदाः ॥
He as Aditya (the sun) blazes with heat in his own place, that is in the world of light ( the sky ). As Indra, he flashes with strength as lightning in the mid-air. He burns with heat in this world as Agni. He is the truth, he is immortal and omniscient.
अन्वय भाष्यम् ।
यः आत्मा असौ आदित्यः दिव्यः ज्योतीरूपः सन् स्व: स्व: स्थाने निजे ज्योतिर्मण्डले तपसा ज्योतिस्तपनेन औष्ण्येन प्रकाशेन च द्योतते दीप्यते, यः इन्द्रः विद्यदात्मस्वरूपः अन्तरिक्षे मध्यमे भुवने सहसा बलेन सूक्ष्मप्राणसत्त्वेन इन्धे दीप्यते गुप्तरूपेण, य: अग्निः भौमतेजः स्वरूपः पृथिव्यां अस्यां ज्योतिषा प्रत्यक्षेण रूपेण रोचते प्रज्वलति, एवं त्रिषु भुवनेषु बहिरपि अग्नीन्द्रादित्यरूपेण प्रतिष्ठितः सोऽयं अन्तरात्मा त्रिदैवत्यसत्त्वः सन् प्रभवति ॥ एकस्य चिदात्मनः एव इदं दिव्यदेवताविभूतित्रयमिति वैदिकं तत्त्वम्, सः सत्यः अमृतात्मा विश्ववेदाः सर्वज्ञः इति सर्वं समानम् || अस्मिन् अर्थ कुत्सायं ऋङ्मन्त्रदर्शनं प्रत्यक्षं प्रमाणम् :- “आ प्रा द्यावा पृथिवी अन्तरिक्ष सूर्य आत्मा जगतस्तस्थुषश्च” (ऋ. मं. १-११५- १ ) इति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
The Atma in the form of Aditya blazes in his own place, the sky; the sun's orb with heat shines like the light of a luminary. He as Indra, in the form of lightning, flashes with strength as the subtle power of prāṇa in mid-air without being seen by others. He as Agni, actually burns in this world with light.
