छन्दोदर्शनम
Oh Sarasvati ! being animated by the power of consciousness, you enable the soul to speak the truth. The soul expresses the truth only on account of you, who are the power of speech. Oh Vak, by your power of consciousness, you are identified with the heart like a veritable couple.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । हे सरस्वति ! त्वं संविदा ज्ञानसत्त्वेन चेतमाना सती स्वं चेतनात्मानं तं प्रति ऋता प्रतिगता प्रत्यङ्मुखेन सम्प्राप्ता स्वयमपि संविदाना सती सत्यं नित्यसिद्धं तं स्वीयं आत्मानं अनु वक्षि समर्थयसि, अनुवदसीति यावत् , सोऽयं अन्तरात्माऽपि पुनः तां स्वप्रेरितां वाचमेव अनुसृत्य स्वयमभिद्योतते प्रकाशते तद्वाङ्मुखेनैव, अन्येषां प्रत्ययगोचरो भवति इत्यर्थः, तस्मात् सा वागेव विदा संवित्सत्त्वयोगेन हृदा तदनुरूपेण समभावेन च आत्मनः तादात्म्ययोगसम्पन्नं अध्यात्मतत्त्वेन सिद्धं पूर्ण मिथुनं भवतीति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Oh Sarasvati ! inspired by the power of knowledge you enter the Ātman turned inwards. You declare the Atman as existing ( true). Again, the same Ātman who is inside expresses himself being inspired by Vak. He expresses to others through Våk. Vak is one with the Atman as wife and husband.
पञ्चमी ऋक् । सरस्वति त्वं परमा देवताऽऽत्मा सती परमेण समाऽऽत्मनाऽऽतता॥ चित्तिभिः प्रति समता स्व आत्मनि
वाग विदा मिथुनं हृदाऽऽत्मनोऽध्यरम् ॥ ५ ॥ पदपाठ :- सरस्वति । त्वम् । परमा । देवता । आत्मा।
सती । परमेण । समा । आत्मना । आऽतता ॥ चित्तिऽभिः । प्रति । सम्ऽमिता । थे । आत्मनि । वाक् । विदा । मिथुनम् । हृदा । आत्मनः । अधि । अरम् ।।
Oh Sarasvati! you are the greatest deity. You are equal to the great Ātman and replete with the powers of Atman and you are one with the Atman. Oh Vak, by your power of consciousness, you are identified with the heart like a veritable couple.
