पञ्चमी ऋक् ।

सरस्वतित्व नर्दसीह गुह्यं
ज्योति॑या॒ऽऽत्मन्यन्तहि॑िता॒ परा॑ श्रीभ्यः ॥
तत् सत्यं गुह्य नामोत मन्त्रो
वाग् वि॒दा वरं॒ ब्रह्म॑ सं॒वि॑दा॒ योनि॑ः ॥ ५ ॥ पपाठ :- सर॑स्व॒ति । त्वम् । ई इति । नसि । इह | गुह्य॑म् । ज्योतिषा | आत्मनि । अन्तरिति । हिता । परो । धीभ्यः ॥ तत् । ते । सत्यम् । गुह्यम् । नाम॑ । उ॒त । मन्त्र॑ः ।
वाक् । वि॒दा । वर॑म् । ब्रह्म॑ । सम्ऽविः । योनि॑ः ॥
Oh Sarasvati! you express the secrets of this universe as IM. You are in the form of light of knowledge hidden in the Atma, beyond the powers of the intellect. Your name IM is indeed real, though secret. It is in the form of a mantra. Oh Vak, by your knowledge you are Brahma and the source of all knowledge.
अन्वयभाष्यम् 1
हे सरस्वति ! त्वं 'ईं ' इति स्वरं तथा अक्षरं तद्वाच्यं वस्तु च इह भुवने ब्रह्माण्डे गुह्यं नदसि अव्यक्तशब्दब्रह्ममुखेन गुप्तरूपेण शब्दायसे, तथा ज्योतिषा वैद्युतानिरूपेण अस्माकं सर्वेषां प्राणभृतां आत्मनि अन्तः चेतनात्मनि अन्तर्हिता गुप्ता सती धीभ्यः सर्वन्द्रियवृत्तिभ्यः परा आन्तरतमा प्रतितिष्ठसि अतः ते तव तत् ई इति स्वरात्मकं एकाक्षरं गुह्यं गुप्तं सत्यं वास्तविकं नाम अभिधानं मन्त्रः इति वेदे प्रसिद्धम, तस्मात् हे वाकू ! सा त्वं विदा वरणीयं अवलम्बनाह ब्रह्मैव असि, अतः सर्वस्याः संविदः प्रसवित्री कारणभूता माता इति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Oh Sarasvati! you say IM. That is a secret sound, and signifies the Thing Supreme. In this universe you manifest yourself as Word. Likewise, you are as lightning in all of us. You are dwelling in the innermost hearts of all even beyond the powers of intellect. You are in the form of one lettered IM which is your secret and true name in the Veda. You are indeed Vak, the Brahma, the best; you can be relied upon as the instrument of all knowledge.
