छन्दोदर्शनम्
यत् परोक्षस्यापि अर्थस्य साक्षात् समर्थनम्, अत एव सा वाक् वाचकशक्तिरूपा सती तस्य ब्रह्मात्मनः परमपुरुषस्य विदा संवित्प्रधाना सर्वेभ्य: पूर्वा प्राचीनतमा सञ्ज्ञात्मिका प्रथमा प्रतिमा इति ॥

COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Oh Sarasvati! you repeat the mantra IM which is Brahma. Following that Brahma, the immortal, infinite, eternal Purusha, you teach the Truth. Likewise, through very subtle words, you convey your sound knowledge to all. That is your innate capacity which manifests itself in giving the knowledge of Him who is beyond the senses. Therefore, you are Vak, the interpreting power. She is the first expression of Brahma and is of the nature of full intelligence.

सर॑स्वति॒ त्वं भूतेषु विश्वे॒ष्वा
दे॒वेष्वात्म॑सु॒त दि॒व्येषु॒ धाम॑सु ॥
ज्योति॑वे॒वानु॒ स्वर॑सि॒ प्रति॑ भ॒द्रा
वाग् वि॒दा प्र॑ति॒मा पुरु॑षस्य॒ पूर्वी ॥ ६ ॥ पपाठः- सर॑स्व॒ति । त्वम् । भूतेषु॑ । विश्वे॑षु । आ ।
वे॒वेषु॑ । आ॒त्म॑ऽस्स्र॒ । उ॒त । दि॒व्येषु॑ । धाम॑ऽसु ।। ज्योति॑षा । एव । अनु॑ । स्वर॑सि । प्रति॑ि । भद्रा ।
वाकू | विदा | प्रतिमा | पुरुषस्य | पूर्वी ॥
Oh Sarasvati! you move in the form of sound in all things, in the universes, in all divine beings, in all individual souls and in divine regions in the form of light only. You are indeed the auspicious Väk, the primal image of the primeval Purusha.
अन्वयभाष्यम् ।
हे सरस्वति ! त्वं विश्वेषु भूतेषु एतेषु प्रत्यक्षेषु आकाशादिषु सर्वेषु देवेषु परोक्षसिद्धेषु तथा आत्मसु अपरोक्षेषु आन्तर्येषु जीवेषु उत दिव्येषु धामसु भूर्भुवः स्वः प्रभृतिषु भुवनेषु अपि समन्तात् सर्वतः ज्योतिषा स्वरूपेण भद्रा मङ्गलमयी बलीयसी च सती प्रति प्रतिध्वनिरूपेण अनुस्वरसि शब्दायसे, अतः हे वाक् ! त्वं तस्य पुरुषस्य संवित्प्रधाना सर्वतः प्रथमा पतिमा इति ॥
